Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah
Coka, I Care
About Me
When the political atmosphere was very intimidating, terrifying, and scary, there emerged a young, enthusiastic, and energetic Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA).
As a young man, I opted to join politics—not just any political party, but the New Patriotic Party (NPP)—to help wrestle power from the then-ruling government.
I started off as the Chairman for the Concerned Citizens Association, alongside members like Mr. Victor Owusu Jnr (Member of Ashanti regional council of elsers ) and Hon. Yaw Anhwere (former MP for Atwima Nwabiagya South). Together, we mobilized citizens in the Ashanti Region to press for development for the people of Ashanti and beyond. This effort enabled me (COKA) to connect deeply with citizens, both old and young, and to better explain the development agenda.
To begin my journey in active political service, I became a Ward Organizer—now known as Polling Station Organizer—for many years in the Subin Constituency, Amakom Division School. As Ward Organizer, I led various campaigns, represented the party on radio, in churches and mosques, and within tertiary institutions. I mobilized members and championed the party’s preferred candidate at the time. This role played a part in helping the NPP regain power.
Later, I was appointed as a Government Appointee to the Bekwai District Assembly. This position gave me the opportunity to spearhead many government development projects within the assembly while also strengthening the party’s base and structure.
As my activism in the party grew, I was appointed Regional Financial Secretary under Chairman F.F. Antoh’s leadership. During this period, I helped consolidate financial records and contributed to resource mobilization to support the activities of the party across the region.
For more than a decade, I (COKA) have served as the Constituency Chairman for NPP Afigya Kwabre South. As Chairman, I lead the party in the constituency, appoint members to committees, preside over quarterly and emergency executive meetings, and serve as an ex-officio member of all party committees. I keep key records updated, including voter rolls, precinct maps, and volunteer/contributor databases. I coach and mentor executives at every polling station and serve as an information source for local, constituency, regional, and national elections.
I have served on several important committees—most notably the Regional Campaign Team. My role included organizing successful campaigns to secure more presidential votes and parliamentary seats. I helped resolve internal disputes and supported logistics and personnel mobilization efforts during elections.
Beyond politics, I (COKA) hold a postgraduate degree in Peace, Security, and Intelligence Management . I have worked across fields related to good governance, gender issues, youth development, general management, and development. I’m also a seasoned businessman.
